POCKET MYTH Elite Cup report for July

The July Elite Cup was stable overall: Fairy, Ghost and Dark led the top scores, Water stayed the most played type and Bug remained at the bottom.

Hello trainers! As August begins, let's look back at the July Elite Cup. The overall competitive environment stayed steady — no type swung wildly — with only modest score and ranking movement in some tiers.

Top-tier scores by type

  • Fairy: 3,850 / 3,450 / 3,250 across the top three brackets; the first bracket is excellent, player count is mid-table
  • Ghost: 3,700 first bracket, 3,700 / 3,550 / 3,100 across the top three; stable at every level and one of the strongest types
  • Dark: 3,500 / 3,500 / 3,000 — consistently top three, strong from first bracket down to the top 50
  • Water: first bracket dropped to 3,150, with 2,800 / 2,700 in the next two; still the most played type
  • Ground: 2,850 first bracket with little movement across the top three
  • Flying: first bracket down to 2,900; lower ceiling but still a very popular pick
  • Dragon: 2,950 first bracket, balanced overall with a wide spread
  • Steel / Rock: smaller player pools but stable core scores and real competitive strength
  • Bug: 2,050 first bracket — an improvement, but still last among all types

The short version: Fairy, Ghost and Dark remain the types to beat, Water is where the volume is, and Bug still needs help.
