Building a Grass team for the Elite Four in POCKET MYTH
How free-to-play players should concentrate resources and build a Grass team strong enough to enter the Elite Four Cup.
Ordinary free-to-play or small-spend players have a limited acquisition rate for resources, so resources should not be spread out; focusing investment on a few Pokemon is the most reasonable approach. The Elite Four Cup, as an important source of extra stat boosts besides gyms, must be prepared for in advance.
Recommended types for free players: Grass, Water, Rock and Fire.
Here the Grass type is used as an example. A complete Grass team looks like this. Grass moves such as Leech Seed and Sleep Powder have a natural advantage in Tera mines and dungeon bosses, so Grass is the example. For the starter you can choose Snivy, which should be fed shards first, or Scorbunny, whose Libero ability with Swords Dance clears gyms quickly.
Serperior
Special attacker. Ability Contrary, with the moves Leaf Storm, Giga Drain, Leech Seed and Dragon Pulse for coverage or Wrap for percentage damage. Held item: Choice Specs.
Venusaur
Special wall. Whether the ability is unlocked does not matter much; the main point is Mega Evolution. Moves: Leech Seed, Toxic, Sleep Powder and Synthesis. Held item: Wide Lens.
Whimsicott
Status support. Ability Prankster. Moves: Endeavor, Leech Seed, Charm and Endure to bait Dynamax moves, or Poison Powder, Charm and Parting Shot. Held item: Focus Sash.
Kartana
Physical attacker. Ability Beast Boost. Moves: Swords Dance, Leaf Blade, Sacred Sword and Synthesis. Held item: Choice Band or Mirror Herb.
Toedscruel
Status support. Ability Mycelium Might. Moves: Spore, Knock Off, Spikes and Rapid Spin. Held item: Heavy-Duty Boots or Leftovers.
Ferrothorn
Physical wall. Ability Iron Barbs. Moves: Iron Defense, Leech Seed, Body Press and Rest. Held item: Rocky Helmet.
Obtaining and investing
All of the Pokemon above except Kartana can be caught in the wild. Catch a non-shiny one first to eat the daily Pokemon shards. If you want to speed up star-up, you can catch Pokemon in the wild and release them for shards; charms, experience and shards can be invested in training, but do not Dynamax, Star Crystallize or unlock Overlord on non-shiny Pokemon.
Kartana can be bought in the monthly gift pack, or obtained by chance in festival events.
For Dynamax resources, put them into Kartana to raise its Dynamax level; for the other Pokemon simply unlock Dynamax to get Max Guard. Star Crystal resources mainly go to Serperior to strengthen its same-type move power. Overlord stones can be used on both of them.
Upgrade held items in this order: held items for physical and special attackers first, then physical and special walls, and support last.
Tera type tips
Tera types can be decided by yourself. Tips: Tera Ghost prevents trapping and is immune to Normal and Fighting; Tera Grass blocks Leech Seed and powder moves; Tera Steel blocks Toxic and adds resistances; Tera Flying is immune to Ground; Tera Ground is immune to Electric; Tera Fairy is immune to Dragon; Tera Dark is immune to Psychic and blocks Prankster. Other Tera types can be chosen according to type matchups.
Event times and rewards follow the in-game schedule. POCKET MYTH is a live game, so details may be adjusted by the development team.
