POCKET MYTH newbie kit for missions and dungeons

The essentials new trainers should not miss: the two level-50 side quests, card flip events, shop priorities, dungeon routes and the Abyss Dynamax trick.

Missions new trainers should watch

Two of the level 50 side quests are must-dos.

  • Elite Four mission (shiny Magikarp): talk to Lance and hand in 50 Magikarp to exchange for one shiny Magikarp.
  • Professor Oak mission (Leftovers held item): beat Professor Oak to obtain the powerful Leftovers held item. The recommended approach is to wait until the opposing level 100 Venusaur Terastallizes into Poison, then have Butterfree put it to sleep first and use Quiver Dance 6 times, after which you can force your way through the team.

Events new trainers should watch

There are many events in the game, and many of them repeat. The friendliest freebie event for new trainers is the card flip event: it appears at least twice a month, one event lets you flip 20-25 cards for free, and the pity counter guarantees a shiny Tier 1 legendary at 137 pulls. So as long as you are patient, a free shiny Tier 1 legendary is no dream.

Shop notes

The points shop carries many shiny URs. The first thing to exchange is the only shiny Tier 1 legendary, Mewtwo, and after that Diancie, Slaking and Tyranitar.

  • Honor shop: slot 4 has a chance to show a Silver Crown fragment pack or an Alpha Stone. Always buy it when it appears, because Alpha Stones are in heavy demand once the Alpha system opens and Silver Crowns have few sources.
  • Friendly shop: refreshes random 30%, 50% and 70% discounts every day. If an Alpha Stone or a nutrient drink is at 50% off or better, consider buying it.

Dungeon notes

  • New trainers can earn a large amount of Mega fragments from the weekly League Conference, and these can be exchanged for a Pokémon's Mega Evolution stone.
  • Trial Grounds gives a large amount of nutrient drinks (they raise friendship and boost combat power), UR fragments and Alpha Stone fragments, so the rewards are rich, but the opponents there are strong. You can hold your level back to build up combat power and make sure you can clear the Trial Grounds for the full rewards.
  • The Dynamax dungeon comes in three tiers: Normal, Elite and Abyss. The Abyss lets you upgrade a Pokémon's Dynamax 5 times for free, but its opponents are very strong. You can use a Mega Evolved Banette holding a Life Orb to Trick the opponent's held item away first, then use Pyukumuku's Pain Split to grind the opponent's HP down to 2,000-3,000, and finally bring in your main Pokémon to beat the Abyss dungeon.

Event times and rewards follow the in-game schedule. POCKET MYTH is a live game, so details may be adjusted by the development team.
